U.S. Open: Lee Westwood has some fun with the “rough” at Erin Hills

U.S. Open courses are notoriously difficult, and Erin Hills is no different. At over 7,700 yards, it will play as the longest course ever for a major championship.

Other factors make Erin Hills challenging, too, as Lee Westwood (hilariously) pointed out on Instagram late Monday. Watch as Westwood shares a practice shot gone awry in an extreme version of “the rough.” One of his team members goes to great lengths to retrieve it:

What we don’t know: how long it took him to find this errant shot – or better yet, if this was staged. Either way, prepare to see some outstanding golfers placed into difficult situations beginning on Thursday.
